Intrepid Studios raised quite a few eyebrows this past weekend when it announced that it was charging at least $100 for access to Ashes of Creation’s second alpha test. The studio, however, has made a few concessions in response to the uproar. No, they won’t be bringing the price down, but they will be adding significantly more value to your purchase, assuming that you still want to spend over a hundred bucks for early access.

All pre-order bundles now include access to not only Alpha Two, but also Beta One and Beta Two in addition to $15 worth of premium currency and a free month of game time when Ashes of Creation officially goes live. Bundles are priced at $100, $110, and $120 for the Third Wave, Second Wave, and First Wave bundles, respectively.

“The cost behind Alpha Two access accounts for realm and CDN costs associated with a live service product,” Intrepid Studios explains. “While this is not a finished game, it will be a live service that we will be updating on a six-week basis as we build out the rest of the game’s content and features.”

“Please do NOT consider purchasing testing access to Ashes of Creation if your intent is to play a competed game,” the studio warns. “It will be rough, buggy, and require dedicated players who are willing to be testers.”

If you’re still interested in buying in, you can purchase a testing bundle of your choice on the Ashes of Creation official site.
