Fractured Online just received a major update that includes a long-awaited engine upgrade and a plethora of quality-of-life improvements, promising smoother gameplay and a more user-friendly experience overall.

Say goodbye to those pesky server crashes! According to developer Dynamight Studios, the root cause of the ongoing server crashes was the outdated engine. By upgrading to Unity 2022.3, the team hopes to not only banish crashes into the void, but also pave the way for future performance enhancements.

The latest game update also delivered a treasure trove of quality-of-life changes. . You can now invert your mouse controls to allow you to right-click to move and left-click to attack, a control scheme that will likely be familiar to both MOBA and RTS players alike. Additionally, you can disable quick casting by cursor, customize cursor brightness, and choose to only see those annoying monster names when you hover your mouse over them.

Mounting your trusty steed is now lightning-fast, taking only one second instead of four. Trigger-happy spellcasters will also be happy to know that casting now prioritizes enemies over friendly units in close proximity. You can also use those fancy combat jumps to reach those juicy resource nodes without accidentally pulling a nearby mob.

Feeling lost on the XP front? Fear not! The Book of Knowledge now features an alert that lets you know when attacking an enemy with maxed-out knowledge won’t grant you any XP.

To give everyone a chance to try out everything that’s new in the sandbox MMORPG, Dynamight has extended its free week promotion again, this time until September 9th. That’s essentially a free month of game time for those who took advantage of the promotion when it first kicked off on August 16th.

You can check out the full patch notes on the Fractured Online official site.
